Budgets for the arts in schools continue to shrink at the same time that educational priorities are shifting toward science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Opera companies are responding by working more strategically with school partners to create needs-based arts curricula that aim to fill achievement gaps in these areas while ensuring that students have access to quality arts learning.
