Katie Preissner is the Director of Production for Opera Colorado in Denver. Originally from the Washington, DC area, Katie spent much of her youth involved in musical pursuits, including county and all-state choirs, piano lessons, and voice lessons before enrolling in The Catholic University of America to study vocal performance and communication studies. During her studies at CUA, Katie shifted her focus to stage management; after completing an internship with the Wolf Trap Opera Company, Katie embarked on her career as a Stage Manager, working on productions with 15 different opera companies across 12 different states, from smaller companies such as Opera Santa Barbara and Greensboro Opera, to larger companies such as the San Francisco Opera, The Minnesota Opera and Florida Grand Opera. She joined the staff at Opera Colorado in 2013, where she oversees all aspects of the Production Department. Katie lives in Arvada, Colorado with her husband, two young sons, and their two basset hounds.
