Batya Abramson-Goldstein joined the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) in November of 1988 and retired as its Executive Director in January 2016.

JCRC programs Batya developed include the Riga/St. Louis Sister Community Project; the Student to Student Program, a prejudice reduction program for high school students; and the Sidney and Anna Frager Jewish/ Muslim Teen Dialogue Group. She is a founding member of Arts & Faith, St. Louis and is currently Chair of the Programming Committee.

Batya served as chair of the Interfaith Breakfast Dialogue Group, and was co-founder and co-chair of the Eden Theological Seminary/JCRC Dialogue group. She was a member of the Cabinet of Interfaith Partnership (IP) is a past Chair and represented the IP Cabinet on the advisory board of the Mosaic Project.

Batya received the Jewish Federation Award; Fontbonne University’s Jason Sommer Award; Eden Theological Seminary Interfaith Award; Interfaith Partnership’s Interfaith Leader of the Year Award; the Hellenic Spirit Foundation’s Athena Leadership Award; honorary membership in the St. Louis University Chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society; and the Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award of the National Conference for Community and Justice. In May of 2017 she received an honorary doctorate from Fontbonne University and delivered the Commencement Address.
