Heather McDougall

WFMT Radio Network
Project Manager
Heather McDougall has built on her formative years as a cellist, delving into many aspects of the music industry.  Getting her start in Chicago, Heather managed several community music partnerships and collaborations, working for both the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Sherwood Conservatory of Music.  After relocating to Ireland in 2003, she got her start in public service media — in production for RTÉ lyric fm and in planning and artistic administration for two national radio orchestras, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. While in Ireland, she also sojourned into festival world, too, looking after both artists and archives for a little gem on the edge of Europe, the West Cork Chamber Music Festival. As Project Manager of the WFMT Radio Network, she keeps herself busy minding the many radio programs and podcasts the Network produces and distributes — looking after contracts management, production workflows and connecting all the dots between Network staff and its partners. When not on the job, you can find her out and about in Chicago’s Loop giving tours of the city’s Art Deco skyscrapers.

Heather has a B.M. in Music Performance-Cello (Eastman School of Music), a B.A. in Linguistics (University of Rochester), and an M.Phil. Digital Humanities and Culture (Trinity College Dublin).
