Mrs. Lelia J Farr retired from Price Waterhouse as a Managing Director, Management Consulting Services who, after rising to head the St. Louis consulting practice, started the Price Waterhouse management consulting services practice in their Cleveland office.  She holds a B.A. in Economics from Wake Forest University, and an MBA in Finance and Quantitative Analysis from Vanderbilt University.

Lelia currently serves the St. Louis community as Vice Chairman, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (OTSL) Board of Directors; Chairman, Nominating Committee, Missouri Botanical Gardens (MBG) Board of Trustees after serving four years as Board Chairman;  St. Louis Art Museum Board of Trustees (Vice Chair, Finance Committee and the Digital Strategy Taskforce);  volunteer, University City Children’s Center; and through various activities with the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Garden Club of St. Louis, the Ladue Garden Club and her church.  Lelia has served over 18 years on the Board of Trustees of Wake Forest University and has raised significant funds for a number of charitable institutions including as co-chair, MBG Capital & Endowment Campaign; co-chair, Wake Forest University capital campaign; co-chair of a United Way of St. Louis Alexis de Tocqueville Campaign; and chair of numerous galas and other capital campaigns.

Lelia chaired Opera Theatre’s 40th anniversary gala, breaking all previous fundraising records for the event.  Proceeds from the gala, combined with a leadership gift from Mrs. Farr and her husband, David Farr, helped establish Opera Theatre’s Innovation Capital Fund in 2015.  The fund serves as an internal line of credit for innovative projects that advance the mission of Opera Theatre, such as commissioning and developing new operas.
