Composer of AS ONE (co-librettists Mark Campbell and Kimberly Reed), the most frequently produced contemporary opera, with two dozen productions since its 2014 premiere at BAM. Currently working on TODAY IT RAINS (also with Campbell and Reed), commissioned by Opera Parallele in collaboration with American Opera Projects for 2019 premiere in San Francisco. Also beginning work on POSTVILLE: HOMETOWN TO THE WORLD (libretto: Reed), co-commissioned by Santa Fe and San Francisco Operas as part of the OFAV consortium, for 2020. When not writing opera, busy composing a PIANO QUINTET for Ursula Oppens and the Cassatt Quartet for Oppens' 75th birthday next season, and touring with The Crossroads Project, a performance science musical-theatrical event addressing climate change issues featuring physicist Dr. Rob Davies and the Fry Street Quartet.
