As the Director of Engagement Programs at Opera Omaha, Lauren Medici oversees all education and public programming, including the Holland Community Opera Fellowship. She specializes in making the arts accessible through cross-sector collaboration, and her work with Opera Omaha has focused on bringing opera into new environments within the Omaha community to illustrate and promote the value of creativity in both the arts and non-arts sectors.

Before joining Opera Omaha, Lauren was worked with Atlantic Health System’s Healing Arts where she developed and managed programs that brought the arts to hospitals and communities across northern New Jersey. Her work with the Healing Arts program included involvement with projects such as Artist in Residence, Healing Voices Onstage: Caregiver’s Stories, and a Healing Wars movement workshop for caregivers with choreographer Liz Lerman. Lauren also previously worked for the Springpoint Senior Living Foundation where she helped develop the ENCORE program. This program collaborated with a variety of arts partners, including theater and opera companies, symphonies, and museums, to create accessible arts programs.

Lauren recently earned her Master of Arts in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida, where her capstone focused on designing and evaluating opera concerts in a hospital setting.
