President
Mark Kent is a native of Saint Louis, Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Operatic Performance from Washington University and Master of Fine Arts in Operatic Performance from DePaul University. Mr. Kent made his professional debut with Opera Theatre of St. Louis in 1999 and spent the first half of his professional career performing both domestically and abroad.

In 2016, Mr. Kent was named president of The Biome Foundation, the fundraising arm of The Biome Public Charter School. In his role as president, he is driven by the capacity to make a daily impact on the lives of traditionally underserved children.

Mr. Kent has a long history of working in diversity and inclusion. Before joining The Biome Foundation, he was the Director of Corporate Relations at The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, where he worked primarily with Fortune 500 companies to create a more diverse workforce. Mr. Kent has also served as the Director of Corporate Relations for Webster University and Director of Career Services at Work Opportunities Unlimited.

Mr. Kent is active on several boards and committees in the St. Louis Region, including Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’s Guild Board and The Inclusion Task Force.

In his spare time, Mr. Kent is an avid runner and loves spending time with his wife and toddler son.
