Sally S. Levy

Opera Theatre of Saint Louis
Board Member
Sally S. Levy is a founding board member of Opera Theatre of St. Louis (OTSL).

Over many years, Sally and her family have made a critical impact on the company. With her lead support, OTSL opened the Sally S. Levy Opera Center, providing space for administrative, rehearsal and community outreach needs. She and her family created a fund in the name of her late husband, John, to endow master classes with distinguished artists who support the company’s young artist program. Most recently, the family established the Sally S. Levy Family Fund for New Works, allowing OTSL to produce contemporary operas that will shape the future of opera for 21st century audiences.

Sally has been honored with the National Trustee Opera Recognition Award from OPERA America, the Excellence in Philanthropy Arts Awards from the Arts and Education Council of St. Louis and The St. Louis Visionary Award for Women in the Arts. She is an active member of the board for both the St. Louis Symphony and the Sheldon Concert Association of St. Louis. Her family carries on her tradition: her three children are opera board trustees in St. Louis and Minnesota and one grandson is a senior executive with a major American opera company.
