Sgt. Panzer is an 18 year veteran of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. She is highly trained in crisis negotiation, de-escalation techniques and strategies, CIT, trauma informed care and suicide. She is in instructor at the Police Academy for CIT, Officer Wellness and for the Crisis Negotiation Team. She developed the Officer Wellness Program and expanded the CIT Program within her Department.

Sgt. Panzer is a liaison with mental health professionals, hospitals, the criminal and mental health courts and the community. She liaises with the community about CIT and officer wellness as a speaker and educator about mental health and crises. Sgt. Panzer presented at the 2017 CIT International Conference, lectured at Maryville University and Washington University. She has received 4 awards for her work in CIT and 2 for crisis negotiation. She holds a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from Washington University.
